Weir Volunteer Fire Department

History

The Weir fire station was created by Williamson County ESD #6 in 1988. The station, located at 450 FM 1105, started as just a two car garage with one engine and one command truck. Over time, living and sleeping quarters were added, and eventually a training room. The station grew again to accommodate EMS command. The number of emergency vehicles has grown with the department and now consists of a rescue truck, two squads, a brush truck, a tinder, two command trucks and two engines - the newest of which was purchased in 2017.

Fire

Weir provides fire fighting services to the community of Weir as well as mutual aid to surrounding areas. Weir's two fire engines, two squads and brush truck can rapidly respond to fire emergencies in our community. Weir's tinder can be sent to provide necessary water to fire apparatus in rural areas where hydrants may not be present.

Rescue

Volunteers are trained on emergency equipment and can provide rescue services in homes, vehicles and even swift water.

Medical

Volunteers with Weir are quickly trained as Community First Responders (CFR) and are able to provide life saving emergency services when needed. While some volunteers are certified EMTs, Command encourages everyone to seek the training necessary to provide medical services at this higher level.

Car Seats

Weir Fire now has personnel that are certified to install car seats. If you have a child seat that needs installation, please contact the station to schedule an appointment.
